Dear all:

Seven reformasi activists have been arrested in the last two days under barbaric ISA. In order to justify the arrests, the police (PDRM) has concocted lies about how they were planning to topple the government using bombs and grenade launchers. This is totally unacceptable. This barbarity has invited CONDEMNATION from Malaysian Bar Council, Aliran and the Malaysian Chapter of Amnesty International. (More here.)

I never knew our police force is capable of such outright lies. Two days ago, I posted some information that threw light into the actions that were planned by these seven. There was no suggestion of violence; indeed there were repeated requests for calm behaviour.

This is just sick. At this juncture, let us also remember Ms. Selvamalar Nadarajah, the pregnant Indian-Malaysian lady who was shot dead by PDRM. And the following post is about that, on the barbaric nature of our police force, who are indeed should be serving us, the people; not lording over us, following the whims and fancies of powerful individuals.

The helplessness that I am feeling now is sickening; its effect on the soul is corrosive. For the past one day, I have been thinking about the great injustice that is being committed. What can I, as a citizen of this country, do, to ameliorate the situation?
