KUANTAN : Senior State Exco member Datuk Abdullah Kia passed away after he was admitted to the hospital here four days ago.
Abdullah, 53, who is the Sanggang assemblyman, passed away at about 11pm yesterday after slipping into a coma two days ago.
His remains were sent to his house at Medan Tok Sira and is expected to be buried in Temerloh today after Zohor prayers.
Abdullah, who was the former state assembly speaker, won the Mentakab parliamentary seat in the recently concluded general election after he beat PAS candidate Abdul Rahim Abdul Latif by a 1,038-vote majority.
He was appointed as the Education, Multimedia and Housing Committee chairman last year.
