Developers: 200 defective homes to be rebuilded :

Klang, Feb 22 (Sinchew) - Developer of Bandar Puncak Alam at Bandar Puncak Alam in Bukit Cerakah said the 200 units of double-storey terrace houses, which developed structural defects, will be torn down and rebuild.

In a statement issued by the developer Bukit Cerakah Development Sdn Bhd this afternoon, it said the company was unhappy with the works on 300 units at the Phase 2A.

The statement said the company was unable to comment on the structural defects at this juncture.

It said it had hand over the matter to an insurance company appointed by the company.

"As a responsible developer, the company will only deliver houses which fit for staying,"it said, adding that purchaser will received compensation as stipulated in the Sales and Purchase Agreement.

Earlier, purchasers had approached Bandar Klang state assemblyman Teng Chang Khim to urged the Housing and Local government Ministry and the Selangor government to intervene and help resolve their problem.
