Isu Radakrishnan: Surat Tok Misai kpd Malaysiakini

Dear Editor,

I am unable to find the appropriate choice of words to express my unpleasant surprise and remorse towards your decision to publish the unbecoming article written by Radhakrishna Mutthiah on 4/8/00 titled "Do we need a moral code?".

Without elaborating further and letting my emotions take the better side of me, the best that M'siakini can do now to control and contain the damage, hurt and grievance that the article has caused to the many devout Muslims in Malaysia and perhaps in the whole world who have been exposed to this inconsiderate article is to offer an official statement of apology. Unless if "Mr. Smart Guy Radhakrishna" would also be willing to apologize as well, M'siakini should stop publishing Radhakrishna's future articles in your website as a sign of respect to the feelings of the majority Muslims who have been hurt and angered by his inconsiderate comment. No one can stop Mr. Smart Guy from thinking and perceiving what he already has very strongly planted in his mindset. He is free to say whatever he wants on any topic he desires. But when it comes to Islam, he simply has no knowledge and authority to offer his smart opinions on this subject matter. Therefore, let him speak whatever he wants, but certainly not in a website which purports itself as being the "Free voice of Malaysians". While we are free to voice our opinions in this country, it should not be done at the expense of ridiculing the other person's religious faith.

So in future, play your role well M'siakini. For now, act as a gentleman with courage and own up to your mistake. Do not make things become worse that they already are. Apologize and learn this lesson well. Waiting for your apology,

-Tok Misai-
